I came for Indigenous People's weekend and had a blast at the AMC Mohican Outdoor Center! They have various camp sites and cabins near a lake. The cabins were fairly new and very clean, ours had a kitchen and fridge along with a stove and microwave, there is a community bathroom outside their rec center with warm showers and bathroom facilities.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating as well as the food was so delicious! I'm not much of a camper but I thoroughly enjoyed my time here!
I'd definitely recommend coming here if you're considering a quick camp site visit or a stop on the AT. They also have canoes or kayaks if you want to enjoy the lake. They also gave various fire pits to enjoy at night! Loved my time here!
My friend and I stayed here for 1 night it is set in stunning countryside BUT in a cabin for 4 there were no cups, 1 plate 2 bowls one of which was dirty and mostly plastic cutlery (very environmentally friendly!) There was no blind up at the door so people could see straight in (person at check-in didn't seem to care). There were no chairs to sit at our table, only 1 light was working inside and the shower area was filthy. One gents toilet was blocked and the paper towels had all gone (it was all bloodied and in the bin). I appreciate it's meant to be a rough and ready stop on the Appalachian trail but it was definitely not worth what we paid for it.
Great place with amazing staff and fantastic facilities. There are some amazing trails to explore and a beautiful lake to swim in at the end of the day before making a fire, making some tea and enjoying the views and sounds of nature, we’ve been back twice and will continue to visit.
Great campsite to bring family or friends! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The lodging is clean.
Good place for AT hikers to get a quick hot meal. A little pricey. Everyone very friendly. Were running out of food. Need better drink selection for hikers.
Editing again: heard they use glyphosate so we will not be returning!
Great place for whole family (including fur babies). Went for a quick hike today and can't wait to come back possibly for camping too.
Editing my review: decided to go camping here and was told by Susie we had a spot we could drive up to since the group had 3 toddlers and 2 dogs. When we got there that wasn't the case at all and we had to hike for a while to get there and it was dark out (like 8:30pm). I wanted to just go home after I realized where we had to go but Levi helped the group get situated and the night ended up being really nice. I was cursing out Susie for a while but Levi really saved it. Might come back for camping
While some facilities are a little older, the cabin we stayed in was clean and modern. Almost too comfortable! I liked how well spaced from our neighbors we were (my biggest complaint at most campsites) while still being a short walk to the bathrooms. We didn't have our own campfire, but that forced us to make some friends. The 10 minute hike in with our things was a little brutal, make sure to find out when the gate will be open or borrow a cart!
Nice setting, close to the AT, great sandwiches, friendly staff & clean dining area. Highly recommend for Appalachian Trail hikers.
